11:11 - retail giants' excuses to trick people into buying things

Hello!

So its been two days since my last post, and since today is 11/11, I think I'll just make a post about the subject? So for the past years, or rather a few years back, its been a very famous thing to see the date, as well as the time tick to a certain number. For instance, we have 1st Jan 2001, making it 01/01/01. So this was like wow, it happens once in a century!!! And we're glad we've been through it, since its so cool. So later, people started to think about other dates, like 20 November 2011, making the date 20/11/2011. So it all goes on till 12/12/12 and 20/12/2012. Thereafter, people say that we won't ever be seeing such things till the next decade. So time flies, I've never really mentioned about things like this to anyone and now its just 11/11 and everyone is fussing about it. So all the retail giants like Taobao and ASOS are offering discounts so that people would buy their stuff and feel 'tan tio liao' (literally earned it or something, idk how to explain. Well basically it means you've got a good deal.) -- a common phrase use by my humorous (ex)Economics tutor. Okay back to the topic, so in the past, when I was in Primary school, I had this digital watch, and all the time I'll be looking at it (of course to tell the time), but I realise something mysterious. When the time struck 11:11:11, most of the time, I'll be looking at it. Idk maybe this is just how I feel but I guess it could be that I only take note to special timings which I think is cool. Even if I see the time and its some weird time, I just don't give a shit. And another timing that was very interesting is 12:34:56. I find it very cool, maybe cos I was a kid. Well. But yeah so its 11:11. So whats the big deal? Well basically nothing. Something big though: tomorrow is Mathematics Examinations. Bye!!
